PIER INFORMATION

For your enjoyment at the pier, here are the answers to some of the most common questions.  

 

Can we bring dogs and pets onto the pier?

We love animals but State Park regulations do not allow pets on the pier.  Credentialed service animals are welcome per State regulation.

What time is the pier open until?

As a State Park, the Pier closes at sunset. Many evenings our businesses remain open later allowing public access to portions of the Pier up to 9pm.

What time can I fish until?

As a State Park, the pier is open daily from 6am to sunset.  Many evenings our businesses stay open later and will typically allow fishing on certain portions of the Pier.  Please follow their instructions regarding closing.  

Do we need a permit for photography?

You do not need a permit for photography that is for personal use (ie wedding photographs).  All professional and commercial shoots require a permit from California State Parks.  This includes shoots produced for Social Media and Youtube. More information can be found here.

Is the pier handicapped accessible?

All businesses are ADA compliant to ensure everyone can enjoy their visit to the pier.  If you require additional assistance, please reach out to any of our businesses.  

Can we bring our own food to the pier?

Yes, you may enjoy the ocean views for your picnic.  Please ensure all trash is disposed of properly and safe from scavenging seagulls. 

Can we bring alcoholic beverages onto the pier? 

No, alcoholic beverages may only be purchased and consumed within the designated restaurant areas.  

May we consume cannabis products on the pier?

No, cannabis consumption is not permitted within the State Park system.
